The seminar, attended by a number of specialists in the sector of governmental accounting, academics, practitioners and professionals, aimed to educate and enlighten those interested in recent developments in the area of governmental accounting and the preparation of the budget through the monitoring methodologies and mechanisms of development in the Kingdom and the accounting system.
The seminar discussed several issues, notably the current reality of the annual budget, the accounting system of government in the Kingdom, the requirements of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in public financial management, the preparation of government budgets, and ways to discuss the methodology for the development of the government budget and accounting system as detailed in the IMF’s Government Finance publication.
