Saudi European Expo (SEE) delivered when it really mattered and scored a decisive 97-74 victory over Al Yamama Warriors last Friday to capture the championship tropy in the 1st Maskan Arabia Invitational Basketball Tournament at the Maskan Arabia Camp on the outskirts of Riyadh.
J. Cabarrubias showed why he is the Best Player of the tournament, scoring 15 of 33 third quarter points that effectively turned the game around for SEE. Cabarrubias finished with a night-high 33 points. N. Lumabi added 26 points, J. P. Gaylan had 12, L. Gomocay 10 while M. Martin and M. Paras each scored 8 points.
Escobia top-scored with 22 points for the Warriors but the usually reliable J. Bundoc was held to a measly 6 points and was scoreless in the middle quarters. Losorata contributed 12 points and Nabo had 10.
Al Bustan Spurs beat Al-Hammadi in another knockout game for third and fourth place.
The awarding ceremony took place after the final game with Maskan Arabia Co. HR Manager Fahad Al Gafees, Larri Barcelona and Taj handing out trophies and meals to the winners. Master of ceremony was Edgar Ballentes.
This year’s Organizing Committee members are George Abalorio, Edmund David, Rommel Macalit, Esikiel Gracia, Carlito Baslag, Lemuel Gomotay, Jessie and Bong Anulacion.
Maskan Arabia is this year’s main sponsor, with all participating teams as co-sponsors. The success of this tournament has inspired organizers to make a bigger tournament in their next project.
