RIYADH: A youth has been arrested for allegedly killing a Saudi man near the Madinah airport recently. The police apprehended the alleged killer without incident. The suspect, a 24-year-old Saudi, is alleged to have stabbed the victim several times before fleeing the scene of the crime with the help of his friend.
On seeing the victim on the road, passersby rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died after admission.
Deputy Chief of Madinah Police Major Gen. Khalid bin Awad Al-Mutairi has formed a special team to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident. He also instructed King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah to conduct the forensic inquiry to ascertain the cause of death.
The police did not name the victim or his age, and said that the motive for the murder will be determined on completion of the inquiry.
The police, who are investigating if more people are involved in the case, have appealed to the public for information.
On completion of inquiry, police will refer the suspect to court for prosecution and punishment.
