DAMMAM: The construction of King Fahd Causeway between Saudi Arabia and Bahrain three decades ago will stand the Kingdom in good stead while planning the King Salman Bridge that will connect Saudi Arabia with Egypt.
Sources said that the Saudi experiment in building King Fahd Causeway, which is the longest marine bridge in the Middle East at 25 km, will have positive implications for the implementation of King Salman Bridge, which will become the second longest marine bridge in the Middle East with an expected length of 23 km.
Official construction of the King Fahd Causeway commenced on Sept. 29, 1981, after the signing of an agreement with a Dutch company that specialized in building marine bridges.
