RIYADH: King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRELIEF) continued its relief operations, delivering humanitarian aid in Kyrgyzstan and Yemen.
The relief center was founded on instructions from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman last year to respond adequately to humanitarian crisis.
Three relief planes loaded with the humanitarian aid have been sent to the city of Osh in Kyrgyzstan for those affected by the earthquake earlier in the city, according to the center.
The center, which is headed by Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah and has been at the forefront of developing partnerships with international agencies to assist distressed people, sent this assistance upon the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman to support the needs, noting that this aid will be distributed in cooperation with the relevant authorities in Kyrgyzstan.
“Saudi Arabia has sent 100 tons of humanitarian aid to the victims of the earthquake in the Osh region,” a statement by the Economy Ministry of Kyrgyzstan confirmed.
The humanitarian assistance was received by the Center for Humanitarian and Emergency assistance and consists of tents, carpets, blankets, pillows and electric plates.
In another humanitarian effort, the relief center distributed about 5,000 food baskets and 8.5 tons of dates in Taiz, Yemen. This distribution is part of a project to distribute 100,000 food baskets and 200 tons of dates to the distressed people in the region, the center said.
Earlier, the center launched a comprehensive software program including broadcasting and training support to serve the education system in Yemen.
It will also launch an e-learning program, beginning with the next academic year, to educate displaced Yemeni students.
