Kudos to the political leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the way it dealt with the worst thing that could happen to Ummah when terror struck the holy city of Madinah. (“Terror strikes Madinah,” July 4)
Madinah Gov. Prince Faisal bin Salman prayed with other worshippers at the Prophet’s Mosque, despite the fact that the suicide bomber had only a few hours ago triggered a bomb attack killing at least four security men. This is unlike leaders in other countries who go into hiding in such a situation.
Being among the people at such a moment of crisis is certainly encouraging and morale booster to the masses that otherwise get panicked. They are indeed the mass leaders and are instrumental in keeping the nation united and composed despite such horrendous acts of inhumanity. I do hope the government will do everything in its capacity to nip the evil in the bud and see to it that Eid is passed off peacefully.
My sincere prayers for the Kingdom, its leadership and people! — Seraj Ahmad Alig, Alkhobar
