RIYADH: The Ministry of Labor and Social Development has reaffirmed its decision to Saudize the mobile phone communication sector without any change.
The reaffirmation came after Minister of Labor and Social Development Mufrej Al-Haqabani rejected demands of Saudi entrepreneurs to ease the inspection drive on the sector. He said that the inspections would continue for all segments — small, medium and large facilities.
Entrepreneurs continued to visit the office of the minister, since the ground inspection teams of the ministries of Labor and Social Development, Rural and Urban Affairs, Commerce and Investment, and Interior started their work, but the minister has refused to talk to them, a newspaper quoted sources at the ministry as saying.
The Ministry of Labor and Social Development is making efforts to Saudize the entire communication sector by Dul Hijjah 1. The ministry has been receiving complaints of noncompliance either electronically or on their customer care phone number.
The ministry has said that those who conceal facts from the inspectors of the Saudization drive in telecommunication sector would be punished.
