JEDDAH: Vice Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Mohammed bin Naif, who chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting on Monday, expressed gratitude to Allah the Almighty that more than 6 million pilgrims performed Umrah rituals during Ramadan in a religious atmosphere. He expressed his thanks and appreciation to all bodies concerned with the system of Haj and Umrah who have helped worshippers to accomplish their rituals in comfort, peace and tranquility.
The Cabinet also condemned the terrorist attack on innocent civilians in Nice, France, offering its condolences to the French leadership, government, people and the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. It emphasized Riyadh’s solidarity with Paris.
Minister of Culture and Information Adel Al-Toraifi said the Cabinet discussed other issues on the agenda, including those being reviewed by the Shoura Council, and took the following:
The Cabinet authorized the crown prince, deputy premier and minister of interior, or his deputy, to discuss with the Bangladeshi side a security cooperation agreement and a repatriation of the wanted agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Bangladesh, to sign, and forward the final versions for further authentication.
The Cabinet authorized the deputy crown prince, second deputy premier and minister of defense, or his deputy, to discuss and sign with the Japanese side a draft memorandum of cooperation in the field of defense between the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Defense of Japan.
The Cabinet authorized the minister of transport, or his deputy, to discuss and sign with the Chinese side a draft cooperation agreement in the field of maritime transport between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China.
The Cabinet approved the subscription of Saudi Industrial Development Fund in the membership of the Montreal Group, and approved the payment of the membership fee worth 10,000 Canadian dollars, in addition to the annual subscription fee of 20,000 Canadian dollars. The payment shall be withdrawn against the fund’s resources.
The Cabinet approved the application of the GCC Supreme Council Resolution issued during the 36th session of the Council, which was held in Riyadh on 27/02/1437, that set for the adoption of uniform rules for acquisitions in the GCC financial markets.
