Riyadh Day to be held in New York on Sept. 26-30

RIYADH: Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar, who is president of High Commission for Development of Riyadh, reviewed the work progress for the activities for organizing the Riyadh Day event in New York at his office at Al-Hakam Palace on Tuesday.
The event it being organized by the High Commission for Development of Riyadh, at the United Nations in New York between Sept. 26-30 this year to coincide with the annual meeting of the United Nation’s General Assembly.
The Riyadh Day event is aimed at highlighting the developmental aspects of Riyadh and its role as the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, strengthening the means of cooperation and partnership with the High Commission for Development of Riyadh, experts from the United Nations, its agencies and its developmental programs. During the event, experiences of Riyadh in dealing with developmental issues will be presented, as well as major strategic projects of the city, including the King Abdul Aziz Project for Public Transport in Riyadh, particularly trains and buses.
In the project, current and future development challenges being faced by the city will be presented in discussions which are to be held in the form of workshops, symposia and dialogue sessions. The focus will be on the developmental aspects related to the programs of the United Nations, such as urban planning and management, transportation, as well as development of social, cultural, environmental and tourism projects in the city.
