RIYADH: Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon Awad Asiri has called on Lebanese political parties to put an end to their rivalries, which obstruct the election of a new president.
Asiri called on Hizbollah’s leader to stop accusing Saudi Arabia of obstructing the election of a Lebanese president, respect the wish of the Lebanese people and stop distorting facts.
During a dinner held by the Lebanese Labor and Investment Council in Saudi Arabia to honor him, Asiri said the Lebanese people should protect their country from negative developments and stand up to enemy forces through unity and wisdom.
He pointed out that Lebanon could use this period of political crises in other countries to fix its economic situation. Blaming the economic performance on these crises is not fair, as regional investment opportunities are growing and could benefit from the Lebanese abilities.
