RIYADH: The Ministry of Health (MoH) has saved the lives of 171 patients out of the 4,887 patients who were registered under its referral program Ehalati during a period of seven days starting from 10/5/1437 AH.
The Ehalati program is reckoned as one of the new e-programs carried out by the Ministry of Health. Advantages of the program are numerous, including providing medical counseling among physicians in the various medical facilities to study the health situation of a patient without the need for transferring the person.
An official from the Ministry of Health explained that the service is aimed to provide convenient medical services to the people saving the need for travel to various facilities for treatment.
He said the program was able to provide specialized medical service through referral hospitals to 2,940 patients; 60.2 percent of the total referrals transferred through the automated system without paper work.
The number of emergency cases was 1,381 from various parts of the Kingdom, up 28.26 percent, over the previous survey. A total of 2,243 cases were referred to outpatient clinics in nearby health facilities.
The advantages of the Ehalati program include providing medical counseling among the physicians in various facilities and to study the patient's case without the need for transferring him.
