JEDDAH: Several legal experts consider using the names of people with disabilities to fake employment a fraud, a crime that deserves to be strongly punished.
Several companies were found using the names of some people with disabilities, claiming that they were their employees, and this deprived those individuals of their duly needed Social Security benefits last month.
Lawyer Dr. Omar Al-Kholi said the companies act contrary to the Kingdom’s regulations; they should not forge documents to employ people.
“In case the disabled was exposed to material damage as a result of fake employment claims, he has the right to seek compensation from those companies after sending a complaint to the relevant authorities,” he added.
Lawyer Abdel Azim Hashim said that the companies that illegally use the names of people with special needs are committing a crime.
He said that those negatively affected in the process should sue the companies that abused of their names and seek compensation.
Interestingly, but understandably, most of the people with whose names were used in the forged employment are blind.
Some of these people made known their suffering and the problems they faced over the past two months, which came as a shock to them.
The scam was discovered when they failed to receive their dues from the social security because they “had a salary from their monthly jobs” in the fraudulent companies.
