Many people with special needs, of both genders, are joining the General Organization for Technical Training as it provides a healthy training environment that meets their needs, as part of the organization’s plan to train more than 40,000 Saudis during the upcoming period in the field of selling and fixing mobile phones.
Jibreel Al-Hazmi, an engineer specializing in avionics for 30 years, had to cut his career short because of his disability. However, he found a new way to continue being productive in society.
He registered for a mobile maintenance course at the Technical College in Riyadh, after he received a text message confirming his acceptance in the course.
He explained that he had received the news with joy and it was easy for him to learn the mobile maintenance field as his education and experience were related.
“I didn’t not face any obstacles or difficulties in the course, which helped me get the needed skills to identify the internal pieces in the device, learn how to remove and install modern mobile devices and the basic rules to fix common problems,” he said.
Al-Hazmi expressed his appreciation and admiration of what he described as good facilities for people with disabilities at the organization.
“They allocated car parking for the trainees and it is very close to the entrance of the training room, which were very equipped with the necessary tools for hardware maintenance. They use the latest equipment in the training, with the best qualified teachers to contribute in Saudizing this vital sector,” he continued.
The Technical and Vocational Training Corporation is working to enhance training in the field of mobile sales and maintenance, and bring it to a larger audience including those with disabilities, and collaborating with the Association of the Physically Disabled, in order to qualify them to work in this sector, while the ministry is working on fully Saudizing the sector by Dhu Al-Hijjah.
The assembly agreed to allocate 300 training seats for men and 300 for women with disabilities, and the first course for the people with physical disabilities will be inaugurated after Eid Al-Adha.
