Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed arrives in China

BEIJING: Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, second deputy premier and minister of defense, arrived in the Chinese capital on Monday on the second leg of his three-nation Asia tour.
He was received at the airport in Beijing by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Wang Shu, the Chinese ambassador to Saudi Arabia, a number of officials of the Chinese government, and members of the Saudi Embassy in Beijing.
Prince Mohammed’s official visit was upon the directive of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and in response to the invitation of the Chinese government, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said.
His official delegation includes Ministers Ibrahim Al-Assaf (Finance), Majed Al-Qasabi (Commerce and Investment), Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh (State and Cabinet member), Adel Altoraifi (Culture and Information), Abdulrahman All-Fadhli (Environment, Water and Agriculture), Adel Al-Jubeir (Foreign Affairs), Khalid Al-Falih (Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources), Majed Al-Huqail (Housing), and Mohammed Al-Suayyil (Communications and Information Technology; Chief of General intelligence Khalid Al-Humaidan, and other officials.
Prince Mohammed, who is also chief of the Kingdom’s Council of Economic and Development Affairs, flew to Beijing from Islamabad, where he met with Pakistani Premier Nawaz Sharif on Sunday to discuss economic cooperation within the framework of the Saudi Vision 2030.
A royal court statement earlier said Prince Mohammed will be in China on Aug. 29-31 and in Japan for four days. From Japan, he will return to China to chair the Kingdom’s delegation to the Sept. 4-5 summit of G20 leaders in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou.
