Equipped with latest gadgets, 550 scouts to assist pilgrims in Mina

MAKKAH: The Scout Sports Authority has launched the first phase of its activities in Mina, Makkah, to serve pilgrims, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Sunday.
Launched in collaboration with the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, the program is meant to assist pilgrims until the seventh day of Dhul Hijjah.
To help pilgrims more efficiently, handheld GPS devices and updated electronic guidance maps have been provided to ensure pilgrims perform their rituals easily and conveniently. The two-phased program will see participation of 550 scouts and members of different sports clubs and youth hostels across the Kingdom, SPA added.
Scout Center headquarters in Mina will house members of a wide range of committees including health care, computer and information technology, culture, media and public relations.
