Trump’s nonsense continues

This is with reference to the report “Trump: Mexico must pay for border wall... 100 percent” (Sept. 2). It has become a controversial issue between the two countries.
We know about many famous and historic walls in the world and most famous one of all these is the Great Wall of China, which was built in the 14th century. The oldest of all is the Wall of Babylon in Iraq, which was built in BC 575. The most shameful of all was the Berlin Wall dividing East and West Berlin in Germany, finally brought down in 1989 with the fall of Soviet Union. Now the proposed new wall by the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, is to effectively divide Mexico and the US, with a concrete structure. If this were to materialize this could become the longest-ever wall in the world stretching to 3,145 kilometers. Currently the border is marked by only a sign and in some places by a fence.
Trump insists that the Mexican president will bear the cost of the wall, a statement that has been protested by Mexican president as well as the Mexican people. “If Trump wants to eat a burger let him pay for it,” say the Mexicans. In his election campaign Trump has vowed to deport all illegal immigrants estimated to be well over 11 million.
He has warned that he will have no mercy on them, majority of whom are from Mexico. The Democrats ridicule Trump that he has forgotten his own origin. He is the son of an immigrant mother from Scotland and a father who is a son of a German immigrant.
He went on to marry women from Czech Republic and Slovenia, who could not still speak proper English of whom his former wife has said that she will never fit in as a “First Lady” in the White House.
Recent utterances of Trump on immigrants are becoming harder by the day despite the fact that he is trailing Clinton by a slim margin. He promises that within one hour of becoming the president of the US the deportation of illegal immigrants will start. We note the fear even among the Republicans as to what their country is going to face if Trump were to become the president. They have openly expressed their concern about Trump’s immaturity. He is noted for saying something in the morning and just the opposite of that in the afternoon. In short he has become a real joker they say. — S.H.Moulana, Riyadh
