Malicious campaign

This refers to the Arab News report “Khamenei rapped for incendiary remarks.” (Sept. 8)
It is unfortunate to read the uncanny remarks coming from a responsible Iranian leader like Ali Khamenei.
The Saudi government has always done its best when it comes to managing the largest annual religions gathering on earth.
The world has high opinion about it, the Muslim world has spoken highly about it and even Iranians not under the direct influence of the Tehran regime, have never shied away from speaking the truth.
The France-based Jamal Bou Kareem, a media person, and originally from Iran, has been quoted as saying that what he has seen on the ground “is totally different from what is being circulated by the malicious Iranian media about Saudi Arabia and its people.”
If the intention is to politicize Haj, then I must say Iran has utterly failed in this malicious venture. No pilgrim, Sunni or Shiite, whose sole intention remains to perform Haj peacefully will ever be swayed by such sinister motives by Iran.
The Saudi regime, or the religious head of the country, will do better to handle it diplomatically, thus bringing the issue directly to the court of the Ummah at large than to engage in verbal spat the would further vitiate the atmosphere.
