JEDDAH: Saudi Arabian Airlines has achieved a new record on Saturday by launching 655 flights in one day, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said. The national carrier announced that it had made 1,226 domestic and international smoothly and irregular flights.
At Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport alone, the airliner recorded 188 departures and 168 arrival flights, or a total of 356 flights.
The number is the highest in one day, surpassing Saudia’s 145 incoming flights and 142 departures, or a total of 287 flights, at King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh, SPA said.
Saudia is the biggest transporter of Haj and Umrah pilgrims to and from the Kingdom.
