It is interesting to see some letters against Aijaz Zaka Syed’s article published in Arab News on Dec. 6. I fail to see why there is such hue and cry among some readers against what he has written.
Is it unpleasant if Aijaz objects to the Thackeray ideology of hatred against Muslims in great country like India? Yes, India is above petty incidents and a great country but killing, burning and massacring thousands of innocent people by Thackeray and Modi forces can not be ignored by just making a slogan “Saare Jahan say Achcha Hindustan hamara.”
Some people will surely feel uncomfortable when Aijaz challenges the fundamentalist forces by saying that India is a great country, with a land of 200 millions Muslims too. He reminds Muslims too to come out of ghetto mentality and work hard for advancement of this great nation.
