Over the three days, professional photographers, amateur ones, as well as photography enthusiasts had gathered in Dubai for the highly acclaimed Photo World Dubai.

The one and only such event in the Middle East dedicated to photography was officially inaugurated on Wednesday by Mona Ghanem Al-Marri, Director General of the Dubai Government Media Office.

As the name implies, Photo World Dubai revolves around imaging, from printing paper to the latest lighting props. The international event is not exclusive to photography as it also has videography as part of its scope, from the latest high definition cameras to state-of-the-art gadgets. “It is like an open marketplace where anything and everything related to photo and video shoots is in one place; it is a great shopping opportunity” said Vikram, a Dubai-based photographer.

Photo World Dubai is not all about the latest camera models or high-tech accessories; it is also about showcasing the work of photographers. The Qatar Photographic Society participated in this year’s edition of the annual event with a large number of photographs showing the natural side of Qatar, a side rarely tackled when it comes to GCC countries.
