B-town rumor-mongers, beware!

How does one put an end to rumors floating around? Ask Sidharth Malhotra.
He beats the rumble about Karan Johar favoring him and his parting of ways with Varun Dhawan. Yes, there had been rumors that his mentor and first director KJo had a soft corner for him. But, Sid has put an end to whispers about being Karan’s favorite student. And, how?
Sidharth who is working in many of KJo’s productions, like Karan Malhotra’s ‘Brothers’ with Akshay Kumar — has indeed, been on the receiving end of rumors that he is being given preferential treatment. Quick to refute, he denied the fact that he is not been backed by his mentor. Of course, he admitted that every actor wants to work with Dharma Productions and he considers himself lucky that the director and script came to him! Plus, no one held him at gun-point to sign up for the movie, he pointed out.
News was that Karan has signed his protege Sidharth Malhotra and his most-liked girl Alia Bhatt in ‘Kapoor & Sons’. The film has finally gone on floor last weekend along with Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor.
But when the shooting took off, who was the happiest person? It was none another than Sidharth Malhotra! Again, word has been going around about Sidharth and Alia’s romance, which has become the talk of the town. In fact, it was reported that the young star was on cloud nine when D-day arrived!
And guess what? Sid recently confessed his love for Ms. Bhatt, and that too in a unique way. You could call it a back-handed way too. Yes, that’s right! When talking of the ‘Çhameli’ girl Kareena Kapoor, he was glad to quote, ”I am a big fan of Kareena, and I have told her that. There’s a certain kind of energy and exuberance she comes with. What I like is that she isn’t play-acting when she does chirpy roles. She is actually a light-hearted, endearing person. I would like to do a full-fledged film with her now… She is happily married. I wish we had a younger version of Kareena for me to date.” Younger version of Kareena resembles Alia? That is a revelation!
Remember, he is working with Alia again after a gap of three years. He even disclosed that collaborating with Alia is special as she was his first co-star, and the way the two share their opinions and encourage each other is really wonderful.
Now all this lovey-dovey talk, has left one man all alone — the other ‘student’ who was competing for Alia’s love on the silver screen. Speculations were on that the once-friend-now-turned-foe Varun Dhawan might have been disturbed by the apparent closeness between Sidharth and Alia.
But, sure enough, the ‘Ek Villain’ star quashed all rumors of a rift between him and Varun stating that such silly talk does not affect the bonding between the two actors. If any problem did crop up between them, then the two were mature enough to solve it amicably — like friends do. .
Yes, it all proves the point…the young star is all sorted. He is showing a maturity rarely seen in tinsel town.
