Deepika got her hands full

MUMBAI: Actress Deepika Padukone is undoubtedly at the top of game with a string of successful films, especially the last three blockbusters of Ms. Padukone — ‘Piku,’ ‘Finding Fanny’ and ‘Happy New Year’ gave her the numero uno spot. And now the actress may add another massive hit to her body of work.
Apparently director Shankar has approached Deepika to act opposite Southern superstar Rajinikanth in his sequel to ‘Robot’ (Enthiran in Tamil). The leggy beauty has previously worked with Rajinikanth in his daughter Soundarya R Ashwin’s debut film (as director) ‘Kochadaiiyaan.’ Deepika is in high spirits and elated to share the screen space with Rajini once again.
Rumor is that she has doubled her price after a barrage of offers and hits. Not just that she has also become choosy about the movies she does. Rumours also suggest that YRF honcho Aditya Chopra wanted Deepika in his film ‘Victor’ starring Hrithik Roshan and which will be directed by ‘Dhoom 3’ famed Vijay Krishna Acharya. However, Deepika thumbed down the offer since she didn’t fancy her role in the film.
Meanwhile, the little birdie suggests that Junior Roshan has given his nod for the film and the movie will go on the floors in November this year. Hrithik seems to be excited about the project. Why not? Victor’s last film ‘Dhoom 3’ created a tsunami at the box-office. But our ‘Leela’ has no qualms in giving the red signal to the offer, we believe.
For long now, reports of the desi remake of ‘The Fault In Our Stars’ are doing the rounds. Recently there was buzz that Sushant Singh Rajput and Deepika Padukone have been roped in to play the lead roles in the Hindi remake.
An insider was quoted saying “There were a lot of contenders for the lead actor’s role. Talks with Sushant have been fruitful and he has been taken on board.” But the ‘Kai Po Che’ actor has denied any such development.
Hunt is on to take on board a new face against Deepika and also to welcome fresh pairing criteria. Let’s see which lead actor will get the ball rolling.
