Guess what’s cooking with the out-of-sight ‘Hum Tum’ girl? We mean Rani Mukherji who ruled B-town once upon a time, and was last seen in Pradeep Sarkar’s ‘Mardaani’.

In fact, recently Rani was spotted in Venice. A picture surfaced on social media. The buzz created is that she was finalizing a location for Yashraj’s next, in which she might be the main protagonist. Well, it looks like she has started helping hubby Aditya Chopra in the production too!

Whatever it means, it’s strictly family business for her. So engrossed is this talented actress in her family’s production house that she even refused an old friend actor-producer and director, Kamal Haasan who is all set to make a Hindi film, ‘Amar Hai’ — a two-hero project with two heroines. It seems he was considering his ‘Hey Ram’ co-star, when he flew down to Mumbai. But when he narrated the story and offered her the leading lady’s role, she turned it down! Apparently, Rani didn’t like the role and politely declined it. 

According to the rumor mills, the ‘Black’ star might just say ‘yes’ to director Pradeep Sarkar’s ‘Mardaani’ sequel.

Remember, Sarkar had already hinted about a sequel earlier when he said, “If many people like this film, then we can think of ‘Mardaani 2’.” So, now we can imagine Rani in a no non-sense, tough-cop avatar in her next once again.

Also, talking about ‘Mardaani 2’, if the sources are to be believed, then Pradeep has been approached by YRF honcho Aditya Chopra to work on the second edition. And, Adi’s wife Rani also had a sitting with the director to hear the script but, she didn’t like it and is waiting for the ‘perfect’ screenplay.

Sources say that since the film dealt with sensitive content, a lot of research work is needed to be done before a script can be finalized. We are waiting Rani … to see you light up the screen once again!
