It was a windfall. Literally. For some people in Asir, riyals rained down on them on Monday when SR10,000 worth of notes flew with the wind when a security company was feeding an ATM.

According to sabq.org electronic newspaper, the incident took place at an ATM facility along the Bani Malik Road. The company sought the assistance of police to “collect” the money. But then the SR10,000 notes had gone with the wind.

Bloggers and experts on Twitter and social media were wondering as to how can this happen because the notes are generally kept in steel boxes, all neatly bundled up. “How can the winds carry them in a flash,” a Tweet said. “Could it be that someone whispered to the wind?,” said another.
