Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov was keen to appear alongside Mohamed Salah when he appeared at the Pharaohs’ first public training in the country on Sunday.

The Egyptian team arrived in the city of Grozny in preparation for the World Cup in Russia, which kicks off on Thursday. The Egyptian players played their first leg at the Akhmat Arena in the Chechen Republic in preparation for their match against Uruguay on Friday.

“I’m excited. I’m ready and my morale is high,” Salah said.

A YouTube video showing Salah and the Chechen leader at the stadium was viewed over 7,000 times. “Wonderful to see this. You look very well, healthy, so happy!” said Karen Williams, commenting on the video.

Egypt is in Group A in the World Cup alongside Uruguay, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

GAMING: #E32018

Gamers in the region are excited about this week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo 2018, the world’s big event for computer and video games in the United States which starts today. However, pre-events got under way yesterday with the PC Gaming Show being live streamed and press conferences from Square Enix, Ubisoft, and Sony. E3 is taking place at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles. Gaming companies from all over the world will be present at the event and will make announcements, with new games releases such as Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V.
