We are grateful toward the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for preventing political parties to woo voters in the name of religion and sect. On April 14, the ECP announced that use of religion or sect as a tool to seek votes would be considered as violation of election rules.

Obviously, this order was in contravention of wholesale approval of hundreds of religious and sectarian parties’ candidates to run for the upcoming national and provincial assemblies elections. — Masood Khan, Jubail
