I read with great interest the article “Israel cashing in on the bogey of anti-Semitism” by Hassan Barari (Feb. 10). The writer has come up with an important issue and it is nothing but the truth.

Actually, it is very easy for Israel to bully other nations because the pro-Israel elements own the international media or they wield great influence in the power corridors in major western capitals.

I believe the Arabs need to close rank to tackle this issue. As a matter of fact, anything anti-Arab is also anti-Semitic as per the definition of anti-Semitism. Arabs are also Semites. The problem is that the Arabs do not raise hue and cry whenever somebody launches a tirade against the Arabs. So, basically Israel is not cashing in on the bogey of anti-Semitism, it is taking the advantage of the weakness of Arabs.
