It is to bring to the kind notice of the authorities concerned that a certain section of the business community in one of the most important financial hubs of the capital city — Al-Faisaliah district — is completely cut off from rest of the city, the Kingdom and the entire world. The business community in this section is suffering in silence daily financial losses with no fault of its own. Telephone, fax and Internet services to the business places in this area are totally cut off due to severe damages to underground cables caused by road repair works. The contractors have also wrecked water pipe lines and sewage lines, flooding the road and creating an unbearable stink. When the affected businessmen approached the STC for help calling for quick restoration of communication facilities, they were told that it could take up to 15 days or more to rectify the damage caused by the repair works. One could easily notice the inefficiency and recklessness of those who are responsible for the repair work in the area. The roadwork started three weeks ago and still it remains unfinished and no one seems to be at work at the moment. However, the most urgent need for the affected businessmen now is the restoration of the communication system, which is affecting their business very badly on a daily basis.
