It baffles me to know that several young boys and girls mostly from the West are heading to Syria to join Daesh, a terrorist group in every definition, and a cult that every sane Muslim in the world whether an Islamic scholar or a university educationist has without distinction condemned it as a group that has nothing to do with the basic teachings of Islam.

Then what attracts these youths to rush like rats behind the pied piper? Is it because they are drawn to Daesh for “spiritual” ambitions or because they are not happy with the western feminism, which is another sham that has been driving many Christian women to embrace Islam?

In any case the issue reflects deep malaise prevailing either in the western culture or in the Muslim society, or may be both.

Whatever the argument, it needs a clinical study to understand the phenomenon and address the issue.
