This is in response to the letter titled ” Action speaks louder than words” (Feb. 23). I am really surprised to see such a letter in Arab News. There was no need to unnecessary mention Jews. It was bigotry at its best. A cheap shot one must say. In Islam life of every human being is sacred. Instead of blaming Jews for all the ills facing Muslims and dragging them in all issues, we Muslims must analyze ourselves first. We are still busy fighting with each other over petty issues. Despite all the rights given by Islam, we remain undecided over many issues concerning women. The writer wants OIC to take some action for Rohingya Muslims. What a joke! What has the OIC done so far for Muslims? Why should we expect the West to come to our rescue?

The western countries react strongly if one of their citizens is harmed. We are nothing among the comity of nations. Until we forge unity among our ranks and start acting like one body, please be prepared to read all sorts of atrocities against Muslims. Our response to the killings of innocent Palestinians at the hands of Israel is nothing but a mere lip service.

The idea of arming Rohingya Muslims is too far-fetched. Brother, you better see what is happening in Syria nowadays. We Muslims really need education. We must turn toward the true teaching of Islam without which such bigots will continue to propagate their skewed views in society.
