As we mark India’s 77th Independence Day, I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all Indians, both at home and abroad. On this day, we remember the countless sacrifices made by those who fought for the freedom of our motherland.

This auspicious occasion is not just a tribute to our historic struggle for independence, but also an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the principles of democracy, diversity and inclusive growth.

The bond between India and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is deeply rooted in mutual respect and cooperation. Over the years, our two nations have developed a strong partnership based on shared cultural and economic ties. This relationship has been nurtured by visionary leaders who recognize the immense potential for collaboration between our countries.

The year ahead holds great significance for India as we host the G20 Summit under the theme “One Earth, One Family, One Future.” The Indian presidency aims to emphasize the importance of multilateralism and collaboration, showcasing India’s commitment to global cooperation. The active participation of the Kingdom in India’s G20 programs is a testament to the growing bilateral relationship between our nations.

The Indian community in Saudi Arabia, comprising more than 2 million expatriates, has played a significant role in strengthening the bonds between our countries. They have contributed immensely to the development of Saudi Arabia, while maintaining strong cultural and social ties with their homeland. Their hard work, talent and resilience exemplify the solid people-to-people connections that exist between India and Saudi Arabia.

On this momentous occasion, I would like to extend my heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to the government and the people of Saudi Arabia. Our celebration of India’s Independence Day is also an opportunity to express our gratitude for the hospitality and support extended to the Indian community residing in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia has been a second home for millions of Indians and we sincerely appreciate the welcoming environment that has allowed our community to thrive.

I would also like to congratulate the Kingdom for the successful Hajj of 2023. Additionally, I take this opportunity to thank Saudi Arabia for facilitating the fulfillment of the cherished dream of Hajj for more than 175,000 Indians. The ongoing reforms undertaken by the Kingdom in this domain are commendable.

Looking ahead, India remains committed to strengthening its partnership with Saudi Arabia. Our shared values of peace, stability and economic progress provide a solid foundation for continued collaboration across various sectors. Together, we can reach greater heights and contribute to the prosperity and well-being of our nations and peoples.

As we celebrate India’s achievements and the enduring friendship between our nations, let us cherish the bonds of friendship that continue to grow stronger with each passing year.
