This is in reference to “World class airport to be built in Jazan.” (March 17)

It is a deeply relieving piece of news that Jazan prefecture is going to have an international airport. The news has brought in a flush of joy on the faces of foreigners working in Jazan.

We have so long endured in the absence of an international airport, and this decision will surely mitigate our suffering. But what about the trauma that we are suffering from right now following the shortage of flights from Jazan to Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam where we can have the international flights?

Following this severe shortage of flights at Jazan, we in fact pass through a traumatic experience at the time of midterm break of educational institutions, Haj holidays and summer vacation when a number of passengers turns up to go back to their countries. We sincerely hope that our sad plight, due to inadequate flights at Jazan, will be addressed. — Shams Al-Arifin, Jazan
