The arrest of Abdul Karim Tunda, a close associate of the dreaded underworld don and the main accused in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, Dawood Ibrahim, is indeed a commendable achievement of the India’s intelligence and security agencies. Tunda is also the one who has a ringside view of the terror apparatus based in Pakistan. If properly interrogated, he can reveal a lot about who all are behind anti-India terror operations in Pakistan and how they are being financed.

The information gathered from him will be extremely valuable to our security agencies to plan and execute their counterterrorism measures. Tunda is certainly a prize catch. There is no doubt whatsoever Dawood Ibrahim and his backers will not like all that information about their connivance with the Lashkar-e-Toiba, the Jaish-e-Mohammed, the Al-Qaeda and the Taleban being revealed to the Indian authorities. I am sure they will try their best to eliminate him. Considering that the underworld don still has a very active network operating in India, it will not be difficult for the don to get his work done.
