This is in response of the letter “Have patience with Mursi,” by Saif-ul-Islam Farooqi. The writer tried his best to defend Egyptian President Muhammad Mursi, but failed to make even a single convincing argument to prove his viewpoint.

His argument that Mursi is an honest Muslim president and criticizing him is equivalent to insulting Islam is not only preposterous, but extremely dangerous.

What an absurd argument to defend a person who thinks himself above law, acts as Muslim Brotherhood’s president not of entire Egyptian population, whose actions are encouraging a religious strife among communities, who has bulldozed the constitution preparation process to advance his sectarian views.

A president who came to power with only 27 percent eligible votes is bent upon changing the secular character of the Egyptian society.

Dictator is a dictator whether he is wearing a military uniform or in a civilian attire. Egyptians need to be cautious about these dictators who are out there to fool them in the name of religion.
