One must appreciate the creativity and sense of humor of Abdullah Sayel. He is one of those people who highlight important issues in a light and funny manner. At times, when various writers take 1,000 words to express their opinion, this writer just uses a cartoon and a few hilarious lines to get to the readers. His article on public transport system soon to be introduced in Riyadh really made be laugh. We “Riyadhers” welcome the governor’s decision to introduce the much-awaited public transport system.

As we all know that traffic jams in the city have become a routine think in the capital city and to avoid gridlocks, introduction of a world-class transportation system is the only solution to this growing problem.

A distinguished Saudi journalist from Alkhobar once told me that he loved Riyadh but he shuddered with fear whenever he thought about the traffic situation. I wish this good news would make him happy to frequent this great city in future. The question of affected coaster operators and cabbies cannot be given priority over the city’s traffic problem. If the pressure from them becomes strong, as it had happened in the past, we would be compelled to brave these gridlocks forever.
