The Ministry of Civil Services has, in its monthly report, said that the number of government employees has grown to 1,225,187 as of Jan. 31.

Of the total employees, men accounted for 61.62 percent while women were 38.38 percent. The number of non-Saudi workers had touched 73,854, most of them working in higher education.

The government sectors took the lion’s share of education followed by public jobs, and health. The number of persons appointed from April 11, 2013 till January 31, were 1,077 employees, while 3,566 employees had left service.

The report said the number of people employed through the Ministry of Civil Services during the same period reached 2,096 citizens, including post-graduates and graduates. In all, 3,978 were promoted during the same period.

The committee for training and scholarship for civil services agreed to train 1,150 persons.
