The West Dammam Municipality confiscated and damaged 1,500 used tires during a recent field inspection of shops selling tires at gas stations inside the city and on highways.

Faris Al-Oraij, West Dammam Municipality mayor, said that the tour aims to check the quality and validity of tires on sale.

“The municipality keeps records of confiscated tires and then transports them to junkyards,” said Al-Oraiji.

“We will implement rules and regulations against violators and will continue field tours to eliminate such violations and ensure the validity and quality of tires on display. The municipality is keen ensuring on the safety of citizens and residents alike through its continuous efforts to apply maximum penalties against violators.”

He asked public to cooperate with the municipality and report any observations or violations they come across by calling 940.
