AL-AHSA: Sixteen people are being tried in the Dammam Criminal Court for forgery and misuse of SR68 million in pubic funds.
The Bureau for Investigation and Public Prosecution in the governorate presented 395 pieces of evidence against the 16 and referred the file to the Criminal Court.
The evidence that started the case was a letter from the local authorities with proof of forgery and wastage of public funds.
The defendants are 15 Saudis and an Egyptian, who is an engineer. Three of the accused occupy leadership positions in the Al-Ahsa Secretariat, three are employees, and one is the manager and partner in a company.
Three others are owners of establishments, one is the CEO of a company, one a civil engineer at a company, one a company representative and the last an employee at the secretariat. The secretariat’s leader is facing six charges out of the 23, mostly involving supply of material for and construction of sidewalks and pedestrian paths in Al-Aqeer beach, at a value of SR3,993,250, where the investigation bureau detected fake documents and waste of public funds.
