Two security guards at Alkhobar’s King Fahad University Hospital were shot by a another person visiting the hospital.

Security forces arrested the shooter on the spot.

The two guards were about to finish their shift and some patients were present.

“The man came up to the security guard and asked him about visiting hours of the hospital,” said Ibrahim Al-Khaldi, head of public relations at Dammam University during a press conference. “When the guard told him that visiting hours are not due yet, he insisted that he enter before the appointed time. But the guard refused him and a fight occurred between the two men. The man pointed a gun at the guard and shot him in his chest. When he tried to escape the other guard tried to catch him, but the man shot him also in his leg.”

The two guards were admitted the emergency hospital, and their condition was listed as stable.

Ziad Alriqaiti, spokesman of the Eastern Province Police, said that the offender is in the custody of the police investigation department will refer him to the prosecution department.
