Two people died and eight members of a family were injured when a car fell from an overpass in Riyadh on Friday, Al-Arabiya reported.

“A woman and driver of the car were killed when the car fell from an overpass on the King Fahd Road in pre-dawn hours. Condition of five of the accident victims is critical,” a source said.

Ahmed Al-Anazi, spokesman of the Red Crescent in Riyadh, said a call for help was received at the Red Crescent control room at 2:50 a.m. and nine teams were dispatched for rescue operations.

The injured members of the family were admitted to Prince Salman Hospital and Eman Hospital, according to Al-Arabiya.
