Inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry seized 200,000 cans of Zamzam water at a warehouse for illegal bottling in Makkah on Friday.

The inspecting team destroyed the illegally stored cans at the warehouse in the Misfala neighborhood and shuttered the establishment, besides summoning its owner for investigation, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

The ministry set up an inspection team in collaboration with police and the Misfala municipality upon receiving a tip. They conducted an ad hoc raid of the building where the illegal bottling was undertaken. The team found that the establishment did not have a valid license to bottle the water and workers were found to be in violation of hygienic regulations.
