RIYADH: Saudi courts received about 6,500 lawsuits against those who didn’t cover their loans, during the first 10 months of this Hijri year, at an estimated rate of 22 lawsuits per day.
According to statistical reports published by Al-Ektisadiyya, 58 percent of the cases were handled in the courts of Riyadh, Makkah and the Eastern Province.
The number of cases brought against those who didn’t close their loans has doubled in the last four months, as the number stood at 3,100 lawsuits during the first six months of the Islamic calendar, at 17 lawsuits per day.
Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Nasser, the undersecretary of the ministry for documentation and registration of real estate, said that the performance assessment indicators program is an electronic service that allows following documents in all regions of the Kingdom to be able to control them.
It reflects the reality of work and allows decision makers, and oversight and inspection bodies at the ministry to identify deficiencies and failures.
Al-Nasser noted that the assessment program contains many of the services that serve the documentation process at the portal of the ministry.
The indicators include a number of indicators, especially for the oversight and inspection process, which includes showing the highest and the lowest achievements among notaries in issuing contracts and procuration, and attendance rates during the current year.
