The Third Productive Families Forum will kick off in Jeddah Hilton in cooperation with XS for the organization of conferences and exhibitions, on April 6, 2014.

The event, organized by the Jeddah Center for Social Responsibility, of the Jeddah Chamber, seeks to support and encourage productive families through an initiative called “We are all productive.”

The three-day Third Productive Families Forum is expected to attract more than 30,000 visitors, said Adnan Mandourah, secretary general of the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce.

Makkah Gov. Prince Mishaal bin Abdullah will inaugurate the forum.

“It will provide job opportunities for over 6,000 productive families in Jeddah through next year,” Mandourah said.

“This year’s forum has more than 800 participating families, designers, buyers and sellers of various goods and services,” he said.

The event will include training courses as well as scientific and trade sessions.

“With training and partnership, we can become competitive and reach the markets,” Mandourah added.

The courses and sessions will offer training in management, finance, production management, e- marketing, as well as introductory courses in jewelry making and food processing and preparation. They will also include training in marketing and quality control. “The objective is to help more than 800 families become qualified in the above fields and professions,” he said.

The activities have been designed with an eye for matching market developments, which place emphasis on innovation, productivity, and quality control.

About 800 Saudi women will take part in the event, which will showcase their various products, like clothes, linens, beauty accessories, and packed foods like pickles, confectionery and sweets, among others

There will be 7 introductory courses for the practitioners and beginners in jewelry design, event decoration and design, and food processing and preparation.

Academics from King Abdulaziz University and other institutions will be giving lectures on various subjects during the event.

The first and second events of the Third Productive Families Forum were held in 2012 and 2013 respectively.
