The two-day Multaqa Al-Khair (forum of goodness) in Madinah organized by the Islahi Center, a cultural organization of Indian expatriates, attracted a large number of people. The main objective of the forum was to spread the message of Islam, organizers said. Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Eadan, chief patron of Islahi Centers across Saudi Arabia, opened the forum emphasizing the importance of learning more about Islam through the Qur'an and Sunnah. It is essential to distinguish between right and wrong, he added.
Muhammad Ashraf Malaibari called upon Muslims to return to the Quran and Sunnah, saying it is the only solution to end their problems.
"Matters of dispute should be presented to people of knowledge," he said while cautioning against sectarianism that has weakened the Ummah.
P.N. Abdul Latheef Madani, president of Gulf Islahi coordination committee, also spoke highlighting Islahi centers' efforts to disseminate the message of Islam. Abdullah Kunnumpuram, president of Madinah Islahi Center, presided over the event while Arshad bin Hamza welcomed the gathering.
"This is the first time such a gathering is taking place in Madinah," said an organizer. Yasir bin Hamza, lecturer at Taibah University, Imbichi Koya, president of Saudi Indian Islahi Centre National Committee, Sadiq Madeeni, ICGC Dammam, Sameer Munderi, Jubail Dawa Center), Abdussalaam Madeeni, Rafeek Salafi, Umar Koya Madeeni, Sufyan Abdussalaam, N.V. Mohammed Salim and Suhail Salim attended the event.
