Anne Casper, American consul general in Jeddah, recently visited iThra Knowledge Program, accompanied by a delegation from the consulate.

Samir Nasr, director of Saudi Aramco Affairs in the Western Region, and Omar Badr, manager for Saudi Armco iThra Knowledge Program, welcomed the consul general.

Badr explained to the consular delegation the festival’s activities as well as the cultural and educational programs offered.

The diplomatic team toured the various pavilions and applauded the education activities offered to the children.

The festival comprises a number of pavilions and programs including the traffic safety village, the art cafe, the 1001 inventions exhibition.

During the visit, Casper and the delegation stopped at the energy efficiency pavilion, which presents an interactive awareness experience about high-energy consumption levels and growth. The pavilion also highlights the implications of saving energy in an engaging manner.

The traffic safety village offers children a unique opportunity to understand and apply traffic safety rules. Children are confronted with multiple traffic situations and if they pass, they are awarded a traffic safety village driving license.

The art café provides an avenue for children to unleash their creativity with various art workshops, an art contest and an exhibition of Saudi artists’ artwork on display.

Casper admired and praised the activities and the efforts exerted by Aramco for the benefit of society.

The consul general expressed her appreciation of the artwork created by the children as well as the Islamic calligraphy booth, which showcased the work of Saudi artists. The 1001 inventions exhibition, she said, provided her with a better understanding of Muslim scientists’ inventions and the region’s civilization.

“I had the pleasure to experience this great initiative, which is successful in terms of providing cognitive activities, cultural and recreational benefits to the community. I extend my appreciation to Aramco for their efforts and vision,” said Casper.
