A total of 150 autistic children had a joyful time outdoors on Thursday at the corniche with arts events, workshops, competitions, prizes for everyone, and the release of 500 balloons.

Saudi Aramco organized the special day as part of their corporate social responsibility program, with the help of 15 volunteers.

The performance of Baba Farhan and his Muppets also brought smiles to many faces. The volunteers engaged the children in various activities and provided information for families and caregivers on how to look after them.

Samir bin Abdullah Naseruddin, director of Saudi Aramco in the Western Region, said the company wants to help integrate orphans and children with special needs into the community. “We believe that they are an important segment of society and should receive attention, appreciation and special care. These events are an opportunity to create awareness about their needs in the community," he said.

Sahai Hani Saadi, director of the Saudi Society for Autism in the Western Region, said the program was organized to bring some joy to the lives of these children and help integrate them into the community.
