The second Jubail Spring Festival which kicked off on March 10 has seen the emergence of Azmeel village as the toast of the festival having as many as 20 interesting pavilions providing a grandstand view of the heritage of the Eastern Province.

The attractions include Tawash House, the museum, a classic cars’ corner, a traditional market, Diwanya and Al-Katateeb. Besides, there are several old local handicraft corners in the festival that have been attracting visitors in hordes.

The 19-day festival being held at the waterfront on Al-Fanateer beach hosts the Village of Azmeel which was expected to attract visitors to the festival. The village participated in the first Spring Festival last year and won accolades from a large number of visitors.

The festival contains a theater of local activities that features many entertaining segments for people of all ages. A choir and entertainment team and many local bands are also participating in the festival, which also features falcons and Arabian horses.

The festival also has a children’s village comprising several educational corners through which children can acquire various skills and develop cognitive behavior through play.

The Spring Festival is yet another addition to the public events organized by the Royal Commission in Jubail to encourage local tourism, stimulate the local economy and fulfill social responsibility programs by involving productive families.

Abdul Aziz Al-Missned, director general of public services in the Royal Commission in Jubail, said the festival is an opportunity to educate thousands of overseas visitors about the history and heritage of the Kingdom in Jubail Industrial City where large number of non-Saudis work.

Al-Missned said: “The festival offers good investment opportunities for more than 180 productive families who are given free space to display their products in various business activities.”

“The morning session is exclusively for visits by children from kindergartens and schools, and students from colleges and institutes, while the evenings are reserved for the general public and visitors to Jubail Industrial City,” he said.

The festival also hosts several charitable organizations that care for families and young people and offer support and development for the productive families, he added.
