JAZAN: Saudi Border Guards have foiled an attempt to smuggle a big quantity of hashish into the Kingdom from Yemen, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said on Wednesday.
Commodore Saher bin Mohammed Al-Harbi, spokesman for the Border Guards, told SPA that a number of smugglers tried to illegally enter the Kingdom across the border in Jazan region on Sunday when they were confronted by a unit of the Border Guards.
An exchange of fire ensued and the smugglers eventually fled, leaving behind 249 kilograms of hashish.
