A 10-year old boy of African descent died Sunday evening after falling into a pothole dug by a contracting company undertaking development works in Makkah.

“The boy died when liquid concrete fell on top of him after falling into the hole,” said Brig. Gen. Saleh Al-Alyani, Civil Defense spokesman.

Civil Defense and police personnel found the victim dead upon arrival, he said.

Teams dug extensively before getting the body, which has been shifted to Makkah for investigation, out of the hole.
