The Committee of Saudization in Yanbu has installed six surveillance cameras at the central fish market to monitor violators of Saudization regulations.

The cameras are expected to be put to use at other locations as well in the future.

The committee has also implemented intensive field checks at fish markets in the province to ensure application of Saudization regulations so that foreign nationals are prevented from selling products at the market.

According to Ahmed Al-Rajbi, head of the committee, violators of Saudization rules have been penalized. He said six cameras have been installed to provide around-the-clock monitoring.

The committee does not prohibit foreign nationals from purchasing fish for consumption, but prevents them from selling, he confirmed.

In turn, fishermen at the market have expressed their gratitude to the committee for imposing regulations and providing job opportunities for younger people in the province.
